PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A new report says patients like their medical records online, where they can get them with a click of a mouse.

There is a lot of talk about patients having online access to their medical records. According to a new report in the Archives of Internal Medicine, it’s actually a big success.

A study of 105 physicians found that one-third of the patients in the practice viewed at least one note on their records online in the course of the one-year study.

78% of patients said they demonstrated better compliance, meaning they followed their doctors’ advice in taking their medications.

99% recommended continuing the program, and 87% said they felt more in control of their care.
