PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police say an 88-year-old woman was hit in the head twice by her son early Sunday morning.

According to police, the incident happened at about 2:30 a.m. on the 600 block of North 54th Street in Mill Creek.

The victim suffered a laceration to the head and was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital in stable condition.

Police say her son fled the scene on foot.
