CAPE MAY, Nj. (AP) — A 65-year-old man whose kayak overturned near the entrance of the Delaware Bay has been rescued by the Coast Guard.
The captain of the Cape May-Lewes Ferry notified the Coast Guard that the man was in the water Sunday evening. Authorities say the kayaker was treated for mild hypothermia after being in the water from about 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Coast Guard Petty Officer 2nd Class Herman Kaiser says the man was wearing a life jacket. “That’s probably what saved his life.”
