Delaware Police: Vehicle, Driver Wanted In Connection With Hit-Run Accident Found

NEWARK, Del. (CBS) – Delaware State Police think they have found the vehicle and driver wanted in connection to a serious pedestrian hit and run accident at the Pencader Corporate Center in Newark, Delaware on Tuesday that left two women injured.

According to police, at about 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, 52-year-old Maria Eldreth of Wilmington and Judith Johnson, a 67-year-old from Newark, were struck from behind by a black Geo Tracker-type SUV on Corporate Boulevard.

Police say both women were transported to the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center; Eldreth was admitted in critical condition.

Lake Drive and Corporate Boulevard were closed for about two and a half hours while officers investigated the accident.

The Delaware State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit reports that the suspected vehicle and the driver were found on Wednesday at about 3:15 p.m.

No charges have been issued at this time.
