WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) – Two males were arrested after attempting to steal a car in Wilmington, Delaware.
According to police, at about 3:44 a.m. an officer patrolling in the Woodfield Apartment complex on the 4600 block of Patricia Boulevard saw the door of a Nissan Maxima open with legs of a male hanging out. As the officer approached the vehicle, he also saw another male sitting in the passenger seat of the car.
Police say that the officer removed both suspects from the car and then saw that dashboard under the steering wheel had been ripped apart exposing electrical wires.
Authorities report that after the officer found out that the suspects did not have a key, the registered owner of the car was contacted.
Jonathan Kamara, 20, of Wilmington and Dylan Royle, 20, of Elsmere were charged with second degree conspiracy and attempted theft of a motor vehicle.
Both were released on bail.
