Victims Identified In Fatal Shooting In Berks County
BERKS COUNTY, Pa. (CBS) – Police are investigating a shooting in Berks County that left one injured and one dead on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the shooting occurred after a dispute between two neighbors, living in the 3400 block of Rosedale Avenue in Laureldale. Authorities say 64-year-old Robert Goda and 49-year-old Bruce Muth have had an ongoing disagreement about Goda's dog.
Police say at about 2:30 p.m., Muth confronted Goda on his porch, then shot and killed him.
After hearing the shooting, a man working nearby, 51-year-old Irvin Ojea, found Goda's dog walking up Park Place. Ojea took the dog and walked it back to Goda's home, where police say Muth walked up to him and shot him.
Ojea was able to walk to The Central Fire Company where EMS treated him and transported him to Reading Hospital. His condition is not known.
After the shootings, Muth returned to his home where officials say he surrendered to police.
