WEST CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) - The revitalization of the business district in West Chester is moving forward with the addition of the borough’s first hotel in nearly four decades.
The Hotel Warner sits on the site of the former Warner Theater on North High Street and blends the art deco style of that building in the thirties with the modern amenities of a 21st century hotel.
The five story main building features 80 rooms along with an indoor pool and fitness center.
Developer and owner Brian McFadden, who also operates motels at the Jersey shore, is hopeful this one will catch on.
“We’re really unique because you can stay and play. We’re a destination now. Not only can the leisure come in for a weekend, or a long weekend, but we have business folks that can come in and we’ve had a tremendous response from them,” says McFadden.
He says the town has continued to grow with new restaurants and shops but there was nowhere in town for people to stay. The hotel is also green with solar panels and geothermal heating.
