PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Authorities were called out to a vacant building in North Philadelphia after a portion of the structure collapsed Wednesday afternoon.
The building is located in the 1400 block of West Tioga Street. Philadelphia’s Department of Licenses and Inspections was called out to the scene to investigate.
According to authorities, the building has affected an adjacent building with five apartments inside. Those five families are waiting to hear if they will be allowed back in. The American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania will be assisting two of those families should they not be able to return home.
There is no word on what prompted the collapse.
No injuries were reported.
