PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – August is National Sandwich Month, but let’s face it: Every month is sandwich month in Philadelphia. Now, two of the area’s best since, well, sliced bread will go head to head for the title of “Best Sandwich in America.”

On Wednesday night’s episode of the Travel Channel show “Adam Richman’s Best Sandwich in America,” DiNic’s beloved roast pork sandwich will face off with John’s Roast Pork’s famous cheesesteak with fried peppers, as well as ten other regional champions.

DiNic’s, which took down Pittsburgh’s Primanti Bros. and Katz Deli in New York City in June, was recently crowned the Northeast regional champ. Meanwhile, John’s Roast Pork was chosen as one of two “wildcards” for the final showdown.
