Philadelphia Restaurant Scene Getting More TV Exposure

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Philadelphia's food scene is being highlighted on television again.
Just this week, the Travel Channel stopped into La Colombe coffee shop in Rittenhouse Square to do a little filming.
"Todd Carmichael from La Colombe is going to be the subject of an episode of The Coffee Hunter on the Travel Channel."
That's Cara Schneider with the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation. She says Philadelphia has gotten a lot of exposure through The Travel Channel, The Food Network, Bravo TV and more.
"And the way people learn about Philly restaurants is often through TV shows."
How important are these shows for the Philadelphia food and restaurant scene?
"Huge. Because they don't really hit people over the head with the story. They tell a compelling story, they show great visuals and they're entertainment. So people watch them, but I think they store these images in the back of their mind and then refer to them when they're going to a city."
