PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police say two men arrested for a strong-armed robbery they allegedly committed in Center City Tuesday night may be connected to other robberies in the area.

Police say Tuesday’s incident happened about 8 p.m., near 12th and Wood streets.

The suspects held a man down, beat him, and then stole his phone before taking off, according to police.

Officers spotted the suspects a short time later. Police say they attempted to get away, but were soon caught and apprehended.

Authorities are looking into whether the suspects are connected to eight other robberies that happened around Center City.
