Female Injured In Camden County Apartment Fire

AUDUBON, N.J. (CBS) – A female resident was taken to the hospital after being injured in an apartment fire in Camden County early Tuesday morning.

The fire started at about 7:30 a.m. inside an apartment at the Castle Arms Apartment complex on S. White Horse Pike in Audubon, New Jersey.

According to investigators, an unidentified female resident was rescued by firefighters and was taken to Cooper University Hospital with 2nd and 3rd degree burns to her body. The victim's exact condition was not immediately known.

The small fire was extinguished in approximately five minutes and was contained to one unit. As a precaution, firefighters evacuated residents of the apartment building.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
