PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Three bikers who were escorting a soldier home as a part of the local A Hero’s Welcome event Wednesday afternoon were injured in a crash on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia.
The accident happened on the northbound side of I-95 at about 4:15 p.m. near the Island Avenue exit. Two of the bikers were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The bikers left Philadelphia International Airport and were escorting home Staff Sergeant Michael Wexler, who served 10 months in Afghanistan before being stationed in Germany in April this year.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
