PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The 76ers have selected LSU center Justin Hamilton with the 45th pick in the NBA draft Thursday night.

Hamilton’s rights will be sent to the NBA-champion Miami Heat along with a future first-round pick for the rights to Mississippi State forward Arnett Moultrie, who was taken at No. 27.

Hamilton, 7-feet and 260 pounds, spent two seasons with the Tigers after transferring from Iowa State as a sophomore. He started 32 of 33 games for LSU last season, averaging 12.9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game and was named a second-team All-SEC selection.
