WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) - A court bailiff was arrested Wednesday following an investigation by the Delaware Child Predator Task Force, Attorney General Beau Biden announced.

Kevin Gaines, 40, of the 200 block of East 25th Street in Wilmington, was arrested at the New Castle Courthouse, where he was working as a bailiff.

An undercover investigation that took place online led to Gaines’ arrest. The investigation involved communication between a Gaines and an undercover detective who was using the profile of a 14-year-old female. During multiple sessions, police say Gaines
stated that he wanted to meet with the person he believed was the 14-year-old female to have sex with her. Police also say during two chat sessions, Gaines exposed himself and masturbated.

As Gaines was taken into custody, detectives executed a search warrant at his home, seizing a laptop computer.

Gaines is charged with five counts of attempted online sexual solicitation of a child and two counts of obscenity.

Gaines is being held at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $42,500 secured bail. The investigation continues.
