Philadelphia Police Searching For Man Who Robbed 3 Different Stores

By John Ostapkovich

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man (pictured to the left) who has staged three armed robberies in less than a week.

The incidents occurred Friday at a Dunkin Donuts on Chew Avenue, Sunday at a Game Stop in the same shopping center and then again on Monday at another Game Stop located at Broad and Glenwood Streets.

Lt. George McClay of the Northwest Detective Division says no one has been hurt yet, but the bandit has been escalating threats of violence.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 5'7 to 5'9, in his mid-to-late 20's with a stocky build. He was often seen wearing Polo-branded clothes.

According to police, he has taken cash and, from the Game Stops, he took a video game console and a game each time.

"He walks out to the front of the store and puts a note on door, like they do in bank robberies that says closed due to robbery. Well, this guy brings his own note with him," Lt. McClay said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Northwest Detective Division at 215-686-3352.
