PHILADELPHIA (CBS/AP) — Police say violence claimed the lives of several people in different parts of the city over a span of several hours.
Shortly before midnight Saturday, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the Mantua section of west Philadelphia. A 26-year-old man had been shot on the street during a confrontation that police say may have involved a robbery. The victim was rushed to Presbyterian Hospital where he died a short time later. Police have no suspects.
Police said an officer heard gunshots at about 1:10 a.m. in west Philadelphia and found a wounded man who died several hours later.
Minutes later, police were dispatched to a shooting at a block party in northwest Philadelphia’s East Falls neighborhood that left a 33-year-old man dead and three others injured.
There have been no arrests.
