PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Two people, including a young boy, were injured in a house fire in Philadelphia early Friday morning.
The fire started shortly after 7:30 a.m. inside a home in the 600 block of E. Indiana Street in the city’s Kensington section.
According to fire officials, the blaze apparently started in the kitchen area of the home.
Authorities say a six-year-old boy suffered burns to his chest, face and back. A 31-year-old female suffered burns to her hands. Both were taken to Hahnemann University Hospital where they are listed in stable condition.
The fire was placed under control quickly by firefighters.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
