New Art To Be Featured At Canal View Park In Manayunk
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Manayunk Development Corporation and the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program partnered together to install public art at Canal View Park.
The art installation "Escaped Infrastructure" will be put up along Manayunk's historic canal and tow path.
The piece consists of more than 50 feet of tubes that are wound together in a twisting form with hidden water pumps that activate as people walk by. At night, LED lights give the art an unique glow.
A press conference will be held Thursday afternoon and "Escaped Infrastructure" will open to the public on Friday, June 15th for six weeks.
