Cape May Creates New Ferry And Tour Of The City Combo To Draw More Tourists

By Kim Glovas

CAPE MAY, NJ (CBS) -- Cape May is attempting to lure more visitors with a ride on the ferry and a day-long tour of the Victorian town.

The Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts and Humanities in Cape May says a bargain price for the ferry partnered with a trolley tour are good for the community and great for tourists.

"They're quite a bargain, the total price, if you figure in the cost of a round trip passenger fare on the ferry, a round trip shuttle and trolley tour of Cape May; there's a significant discount," says Director Michael Zuckerman.

He says the ferry is met on the bay by a shuttle, which takes visitors to the center of town. Zuckerman says the idea is to leave your car behind and take the ferry instead. It also offers visitors the option of heading into Delaware to enjoy the sites there as well.
