Area Billboard Companies Aid Montco Woman's Search for a Kidney Donor

GLENSIDE, Pa. (CBS) -- An Abington Township family's effort to find a kidney donor for their ailing mother is moving to another level.
Earlier this year we told you about Aretha Swift's three kids, who were hoping to raise enough money to buy billboard space to solicit a kidney donor (see previous story).
Thaddeus Bartkowski owns a Chester County outdoor advertising company. He heard about Aretha's story and put together a group of outdoor advertising companies who are donating space on 24 digital boards for two months in the mid-Atlantic region.
"I was inspired by Aretha's perseverance," Bartkowski tells KYW Newsradio. "I was impressed with her forethought to appeal to the masses through a mass media campaign, and I was compassionate to her need to find a donor."
The 52-year-old Glenside woman has been on the transplant list for more than two years.
"We're just really thankful," she says, "and the bottom line is we're just believing and praying that a potential donor will come out of this. So we're excited."
The billboard will direct potential donors to a web site, www.akidneyforaretha.com.
