Delaware Police Investigating Early Morning Bar Shooting

STANTON, Del. (CBS) – Delaware State Police are investigating an overnight shooting that happened at a local bar.

The incident happened at 1:10 a.m. on Saturday morning at the Bankshots Bar at 106 Main Street in Stanton.

As patrons were standing outside the bar in a designated smoking area, a red or maroon Jeep pulled up and stopped in front of the business. The driver was told to leave, and he then exchanged words in Spanish with the people outside. The suspect then fired one round from a handgun, striking a 35-year-old man in the arm, before fleeing east on Route 4.

The victim was transported to Christiana Medical Center where he was admitted.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 25-35 years of age, with short black hair, who was wearing a yellow t-shirt and was armed with a handgun.
