Alvernia University’s Philadelphia Center is a hub of activity for students from various walks of life searching for a flexible and affordable opportunity to begin, continue, or complete a college education. Located just outside Philadelphia in Cheltenham, the Center offers a variety of degree programs, as well as English as a Second Language. Currently, one of the more popular programs among adult students is Criminal Justice.
Courses are taught by expert faculty who possess not only years of teaching experience, but also hands-on, practical experience as working professionals in their respective disciplines.
“We’ve had a lot of interest in Criminal Justice recently,” said Christina M. Dennis, Director of Alvernia’s Philadelphia Center. “With new courses beginning in May and again in July, we will provide many new students a great program to earn their Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice.”
For a working adult, starting or finishing a degree is not always easy, but Alvernia, which is recognized as one of the leading Catholic colleges in Pennsylvania, makes it easier for students by offering classes during the day, in the evening, and on weekends.
“I understand that life presents challenges, but I know firsthand the power of an education. That’s why I’m committed to helping our students succeed,” said Dennis.
Attaining degrees in fields such as education, social work, or criminal justice provides students with opportunities to work in meaningful, fulfilling careers.
“We are not only working to make sure our students get the education they need to succeed, but to meet the needs of our community, as well,” Dennis said. “There’s a reason we’re here in Philadelphia, and we will continue to serve both our students and local community.”
