PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Flyers hope home ice truly is an advantage tonight as they look to stay alive against the Devils in their Eastern Conference semifinal playoff series.
New Jersey leads this best-of-seven series three games to one. They’ve won the last three games after the Flyers captured the opener in overtime.
If the Flyers are to pull one out tonight, they will have to do it without star forward Claude Giroux. He has been suspended for this game as a result of a hit in Game #4.
The Devils have never lost a playoff series where they have enjoyed a three games to one lead. The Flyers have only won one playoff series when down three games to one (2010 against Boston, when they actually trailed three games to none).
KYW’s Matt Leon spoke with Sarah Baicker, who covers the Flyers for CSNPhilly.com, about the chances the Flyers can extend the season.
