Suspect Caught On Tape Breaking Into Cars In South Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect who was caught on tape breaking into several parked cars.

The thefts happened at about 5 p.m. on April 11th in the 1700 block of Annin Street in South Philadelphia.

According to investigators, the victims had just parked their cars when the suspect approached the vehicles on a bike.

The suspect is caught on tape suspiciously looking around and then smashing the windows of the cars. The suspect then reached into the cars and took several items, including a laptop that was in a carrying case.

Authorities say the suspect was then spotted on surveillance breaking into several other cars before getting on his bike and driving away.

The suspect is described as a black male, 20-30 years-of-age, with short hair and a heavy build. He was wearing glasses, a green jacket, with a blue shirt, dark pants and dark-colored shoes.
