Pennsylvania Brewery Offering Special Beer In Memory Of Ursinus College Graduate
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A Pennsylvania brewery is offering a special beer this weekend, raising money for Gift of Life in memory of an Ursinus College graduate, killed in a car crash earlier this year.
Twenty-four-year-old Dan Glover died after a car crash on an icy stretch of the turnpike in January while driving to the funeral of a college friend. The one-time Ursinus College wrestler is now being honored by his former employer, Troegs Brewery:
"We just decided to do a tribute to him, Dan's parents decided to donate his organs to the Gift of Life program and it helped a lot of people, and we just wanted to perpetuate that."
Troegs Brewery manager Ed Yashinsky says they came up with a small batch called Danny's IPA, based on Dan's favorite beer, Troegs Nugget Nectar.
"We'll have about five or 600 cases for sale, we're going to donate $10 to gift of life."
Danny's IPA is only available at Troegs Hershey location, Yashinsky says they talked to Dan's parents, and they asked proceeds go to Gift of Life.
