PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Philadelphia Fire Department has announced the funeral arrangements for two firefighters who lost their lives battling a warehouse fire in Kensington, Monday morning.
On Tuesday, Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers announced the the funeral plans of Lieutenant Robert Neary and Firefighter Daniel Sweeney of the Philadelphia Fire Department. (see related story)
Both Sweeney and Neary died in the line of duty while performing firefighting operations on Box #361 at 1817 E. York Street on Monday. Lieutenant Neary, a veteran of 37 years, was assigned to Ladder 10 Company, Platoon “C” and Firefighter Sweeney, a veteran of 6 years, was also assigned to Ladder 10 Company, Platoon “C”.
