The woman, 67-year-old Joanne Barber of Newark, was taken to Christiana Hospital in critical condition, but police say she later died.

The operator of the motorcycle, 67-year-old William Barber of Newark, was hospitalized with injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening.

The driver of the car, 75-year-old Georganna Pragg of Wilmington, was not injured.

Police say an investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
