Eagles: Jason Peters Suffers Ruptured Achilles, Will Have Surgery

By Spike Eskin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Eagles announced today that left tackle Jason Peters suffered a ruptured Achilles in his right leg. He will have surgery to repair the injury on April 2nd, and it will be performed by Dr. Steve Raikin.

Peters suffered the injury on March 27th, while training in Texas, the team reported.

The Eagles made a move to keep the offensive line together, resigning Evan Mathis earlier this off-season. Many considered the Eagles line one of the best in the NFL, with Peters considered the best left tackle in the league.

The team also announced the signing of King Dunlap to a one-year deal today.
