CBS3/CW Philly Phone Bank For Ronald McDonald House Charities Sets A Record With Nearly $1 Million Raised For Local Programs

Philadelphia, March 20, 2012 – CBS 3 and The CW Philly 57's annual Ronald McDonald House Charities Phone Bank, a five hour on-air fundraiser for one of the Delaware Valley's most beloved charities, set a new record tonight by raising nearly $1 million through contributions from viewers and corporate sponsors. This year's total, $969,384, far exceeded last year's donations of $610,350.

Anchors Susan Barnett and Chris May hosted the event with special appearances by Anchor Pat Ciarrocchi, Sports Director Beasley Reece, Meteorologist Kathy Orr and on-air personalities from the CBS RADIO stations in Philadelphia including Ross Brittain, Valerie Knight and Frank Lewis of 98.1 WOGL's Breakfast Club, Chris Stigall from Talk Radio 1210 WPHT and Marc Farzetta and Spike Eskin of SportsRadio 94 WIP among others.

All funds raised through the phone bank will directly benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philadelphia Region, a non-profit organization that creates, finds and supports programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children in our community.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities Phone Bank is presented by the Tri-State Toyota Dealers Association and ConEdison Solutions. CBS 3 and The CW Philly acknowledge the support of Aberdeen Asset Management, Amoroso's Baking Company, Coca-Cola, ING Direct, Keystone Foods, McDonalds Restaurants of the Greater Philadelphia Region, Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children and Wells Fargo, all sponsors of this fundraiser.
