Syracuse’s Fab Melo Ruled Ineligible For NCAA Tournament

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Syracuse University center Fab Melo will not play in the NCAA tournament due to an eligibility issue, the school announced today.

Melo, a sophomore, averaged 7.8 points and 5.8 rebounds for the 31-2 Syracuse Orange. Syracuse enters the tournament with a #1 seed, and will face UNC Asheville on Thursday.

No further details about Melo’s eligibility issue have been released.
