SOUTHAMPTON, N.J. (CBS) – Two people were killed after a pick-up truck slammed into a tree in Burlington County Monday morning.

The deadly accident happened shortly after 11 a.m. on Route 70 near Burrs Mill Road in Southampton, New Jersey.

Chopper 3 HD was over the scene where a green pick-up truck somehow lost control and crashed head-on into a tree.

According to authorities, two people inside the car died as a result of the crash. The identity of the victims was not immediately released by police.

The deadly crash remains under police investigation.
