The Laviolette’s on the ice before The 2012 Winter Classic (credit: Kristen Laviolette)

Flyers coach Peter Laviolette is known as a tough coach who is not afraid to let his players or the refs know exactly how he feels.
His wife Kristen, is one of the nicest, laid back and friendly people I have ever met. I met Kristen for a lunch segment at their house today to talk about the Flyers Wives Fight For Lives Carnival.
Their story is great. They met in a Boston airport when he was playing for Providence. He spotted her working at the Delta Airlines counter and made his move. She wouldn’t give him her number, but took his.
He then told his teammates ” I’ve just met my wife. Get ready for a wedding.”
He was right. She did call, and six months later they were engaged. The rest is history, three kids and fifteen years of history.
Kristen has so many great stories to tell. But right now it’s all about the carnival. It truly is such a great event that helps so many different causes.
This year is the 35th anniversary of the Flyers Wives Fight For Lives Carnival.
Check it out Sunday, February 19, 2012.
