Anti-Valentine's Day Parties Cater To The 'Love Stinks' Crowd

By John McDevitt

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - With Valentine's Day almost here, celebrations are planned for those who don't have a significant other.

What does cupid know? You don't need to have a Valentine to have fun. Many are getting together with single friends.

Like this man, who says, "We are going to go out to dinner and it's going to be as unromantic as possible."

And area restaurants and bars are holding special nights for those not in love.

Erin Laughlin is a manager of The Twisted Tail in Head House Square. The gang there is hosting an "I Hate Valentine's Day" party tonight starting at 9 with live music, drink specials, and heart shaped piñatas.

"If they feel they need to let out their love rage or their anti-Hallmark sentiments, they can come here and smash a piñata to pieces."

And if you should find someone at the party, you can go back on the 14th, when they are featuring a special Valentine's Day menu.
