PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A former Philadelphia police officer pleaded guilty today to theft, perjury, and criminal conspiracy.
According to the Philadelphia district attorney's office, Dwayne Darby admitted to being involved in a false insurance claim that was submitted for a 2006 Volvo registered to his boyfriend. The boyfriend falsely reported the car stolen so that he could collect the insurance money.
Darby, who worked as a police sergeant for 15 years before he was terminated in 2010, was sentenced to three years' probation and a $5,000 fine.
