Police Say 'Office Creeper' Tied To String Of Ft. Washington Burglaries

By Brad Segall and Elizabeth Hur

UPPER DUBLIN, Pa. (CBS) -- Montgomery County authorities are on the hunt for a man dubbed the "office creeper" because he slips into office buildings after hours, stealing laptop computers and cash.

Police say arrest warrants have already been issued for Gerald Broadwater in Georgia, North Carolina, and New Jersey.

Now, Upper Dublin police want to get their hands on the 62-year-old suspected burglar.  They believe Broadwater is the same man who is responsible for burglaries in the Fort Washington Office Park last month.

Detective Michael Gommer says they're not sure yet what connection Broadwater has, if any, to the Philadelphia area.

"That part of the investigation is still ongoing," Gommer said.  "We have a large industrial business area, and at times that attracts people to our beautiful township."

If he's confronted in the buildings, police say, he tells people he's either a temp or a maintenance worker.

Police have his car but they're not sure whether he's still in the area.  He's described by police as bald, about 6'2" tall, with an athletic build, and well dressed.
