PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A man is behind bars in Delaware for impersonating a cop.
Authorities say 22-year-old Javon Redden went to his ex-girlfriend’s house after he threatened her current boyfriend over the phone.
Fearing for his safety, the victim drove off, with Redden pursuing him, police say.
As an employee of Bayside Security, police say Redden’s black Dodge Durango is equipped with red and blue L.E.D. strobe lights, similar to those on a police cruiser. Redden turned on the lights and attempted to stop the victim. The victim never stopped and was able to get away.
Javon Redden is charged with criminal impersonation of a police officer, reckless engendering in the second degree and terroristic threatening.
