Delaware Police Searching For Man Involved In Early Morning Armed Robbery

NEW CASTLE, Del. (CBS) – Police have issued two warrants for the arrest of a man in connection with an armed robbery in Dunleith.

At around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, police responded to a report of a robbery that had just occurred at a home in the 400 block of Bethune Drive. When the officers arrived, the 39-year-old victim told them that he was approached by a male acquaintance that brandished a gun and stole an undisclosed amount of cash and property. During the incident, the suspect also threatened a family member of the victim before fleeing the area.

During the investigation, officers were able to gather information that lead to Julius Lawrence, a 28-year-old male from the 100 block of Oakwood Court in New Castle, being identified as the suspect involved.

Police warn that Lawrence should be considered armed and dangerous and ask anyone with information on his whereabouts to call the New Castle County Police Dept at 395-8110 or visit the website at Citizens can also call Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333.
