PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The time for Christmas shopping is quickly drawing to a close. But there are many people who still have gifts to buy.
One entrepreneur is helping procrastinators with a way to do last-minute shopping and still meet the gift-giving deadline.
Today, December 23rd, is “E-Gift Card Day,” so declared last year by the founder of eCoupons and eGift Cards, Talya Schaeffer.
Schaeffer says the e-gift card option is for all those people who maybe have been pressed for time, or couldn’t think of a good gift idea.
And, Schaeffer adds, it’s just a little different than a regular gift card:
“The difference is that you have to know the eperson’s e-mail address. So you would go online — you can go to egiftcardday.com. We have over a hundred retailers who are participating in this day, and we list all the different e-gift cards so that you don’t have to get confused between regular gift cards versus the e-gift cards.”
Schaeffer says the entire process is done online, and the e-gift card can be delivered immediately. Or you can have it arrive on Christmas Day.
She says other online retailers are also offering e-gift cards this year.
“I think it’s a great last-minute gift idea,” she adds.
