VESTAL, N.Y. (AP) — Samme Givens scored 15 points and Drexel shot 55.3 percent (26 of 47) from the field to defeat Binghamton 68-44 on Thursday night, keeping the Bearcats winless through 10 games.
Nine of Givens’ points came in the first half. The Dragons (6-4) led 22-18 with 5:32 remaining before closing the half with a 14-4 run, which featured five layups to go in front 36-22.
Damion Lee scored 10 of his 12 points for Drexel in the second half, when the Dragons shot 63.2 percent (12 of 19).
Ben Dickinson scored 17 points to pace Binghamton, which shot 35.9 percent (14 of 39) for the game and made just 6 field goals in 18 tries (33.3 percent) in the second half. He also had seven rebounds and three assists.
Drexel outscored Binghamton 40-16 in the paint and turned 14 Bearcats turnovers into 15 points.
