CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) — The 2012 MLS season for the Philadelphia Union will begin on March 12th.  Peter Nowak’s squad will start things off on the road, visiting the Portland Timbers.

Philadelphia played the Timbers twice in 2011, losing 1-0 in the Pacific Northwest and playing to a scoreless draw in Chester.

The Union home opener will be Sunday, March 18th, but the opponent and game time were not immediately released.

The entire MLS scheduled will be released in the coming weeks.
