Man Arrested In Alleged Murder-For-Hire Plot In Montgomery County

By Kim Glovas and Jim Osman

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- A Montgomery County sandwich shop owner has been arrested for allegedly trying to hire a hit man to kill his wife's alleged lover and two other men.

District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman says 47-year-old Paul Vangore contacted a man in the summer about hiring a professional killer.

Ferman says Vangore claimed his wife was having an affair with one of the men. The other two men were friends with the alleged lover. Ferman says Vangore wanted all three kidnapped.

According to Ferman, Vangore's plan was to confront them, then have the hit man kill them. The negotiated price was $7,500.

"He was very clear that he wanted to make sure to see these three, so he could share with them his sense of disrespect and show them what happens when you disrespect a man like him," said Ferman.

Ferman says Vangore met with the contact man and an undercover Montgomery County detective on Wednesday at a local restaurant.

The plan was arranged, and then as Vangore was leaving the restaurant, he was arrested by county detectives, Abington Township Police and Cheltenham Township police.

Vangore owns a number of Subway sandwich shops and the three targets were all former employees. A current employee told Eyewitness News that Vangore told him he was planning on selling the store.

Vangore is expected to appear in court Thursday afternoon.
