PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Now that American Airlines has filed for bankruptcy protection (see related story), passsengers may be wondering how they will be affected.
Don’t panic, says Patricia Wurster, owner of The Travel Station in Oreland (Montgomery County), Pa. She says if you’re flying on American this holiday season, the airline will get you where you need to go.
Still, she says, she doesn’t feel comfortable booking the airline for future trips:
“I look out for my clients, and they won’t feel comfortable if I say, ‘I can put you on American but, oh yes, they’re filing for Chapter 11 — but don’t worry.’ “
She points out that American is not the most popular airline in this area, so there won’t be too many local passengers affected.
