Last-minute Thanksgiving shoppers at Reading Terminal Market (credit: Hadas Kuznits)
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Thanksgiving is tomorrow and some people still have some food shopping to do!
The mad rush was on at Reading Terminal Market for people to get last minute items before its time for Thanksgiving.
The day before Thanksgiving is not your typical Wednesday at the grocery store:
“The crowds are pretty heavy, lines are long but they’re moving fast.”
The pressure seems to be on to make a great meal!
Kuznits: “The kids are grown?”
“Yes — and they’re coming!”
Kuznits: “With their appetites!”
“Oh yes! And they’re looking forward to mom’s cooking.”
Kuznits: “So this is mom’s holiday to shine?”
“That’s what it is! Christmas and Thanksgiving that’s a mom time.”
They say Thanksgiving is a big deal and big expense:
“Yes, about — yes, a couple hundred bucks, easy. Without the cooking — and we still aren’t done!”
But totally worth it:
“Thanksgiving is the best holiday as far as I’m concerned.”
Kuznits: “You like the shopping and the cooking?”
“Yeah — and it’s all about food, so what could be better?”
