PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Fort the second straight week, the Temple Owls will be on the primetime stage tonight, hosting Miami of Ohio at Lincoln Financial Field.
However, Temple will be looking for a better result this time around, after losing 35-31 last week to Ohio University, in Athens, Oh.
The Owls found a quarterback in that loss, however. Sophomore Chris Coyer rushed for 184 yards and threw three touchdowns after taking over for an ineffective Chester Stewart.
The status of Owls’ standout running back Bernard Pierce is iffy for tonight. He took a shot to the head late in the loss to Ohio.
Temple is 5-4 overall, 3-3 in the MAC. Miami of Ohio is 4-5, and 3-2 in the conference.
KYW’s Matt Leon sat down with the radio voice of the Owls, KYW’s own Harry Donahue, to talk about this week’s matchup.
