Philadelphia Police Find $500,000 Hidden In Car
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police in Philadelphia say they found $500,000 in a secret compartment of a car pulled over for running a red light.
Authorities say the unidentified driver fled the scene when police stopped the silver sport-utility vehicle on Thursday in north Philadelphia.
Police searched the car and found stacks of cash hidden in a compartment in the trunk.
Tasha Jamerson, a spokeswoman for the district attorney's office, says authorities believe the money and vehicle were being used for illegal drug activity.
No arrests have been made.
