PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – If you are into costume parties there is another one this week that has nothing to do with Halloween.
On Wednesday, November 2nd, Distrito Mexican Restaurant in University City holds their annual “Day of The Dead” celebration.
“We like to throw just a big celebration (with) some of our favorite things: obviously food, tequila and a good time with friends to share,” explains Chef Maria Schmidt.
You can hear Stasia DeMarco’s interview with Maria Schmidt in this CBS Philly “Philly Scene” podcast…
While the event focuses on cocktails and yummy food, it is a little bit like Halloween too.
“We will also be celebrating with a dead or alive costume contest. And the winner will receive a free bottle of tequila and the drawing is at 9:30 p.m.,” Schmidt adds.
