Convenience Store Clerk Beaten During Robbery

CLAYMONT, Del. (AP) — Delaware State police say a clerk at a Claymont convenience store was beaten during a robbery.

It happened about 4:45 a.m. Friday at the Cumberland Farms store on Naamans Road. Troopers say two men wearing ski masks approached a clerk from behind as she prepared to open the store for the day.

At least one of the men had a handgun, and the men hit the woman on the head several times, possibly with a gun. They forced the woman to open the store and stole an undisclosed amount of money. The robbers fled on foot.

The woman suffered head injuries but declined medical treatment.

Need descriptions. Did the clerk see the thugs’ hands? Hear them talk?

  2. Jim Wilmer says:

These stores pay little and expect one person to open and close at times. Robbery 101; hit the store when there are less opposition. Can’t get any less than 1!
