SPCA Officials Say Keep A Close Eye On Your Cat As Halloween Approaches

WEST CHESTER, Pa. (CBS) - Halloween is just days away, that has animal advocates reminding pet owners to keep a close eye on their cats.  And in Chester County, the warning carries extra weight after a string of animal cruelty cases.

We pass along this warning each year, reminding cat owners to protect those felines -- as Halloween approaches. But SPCA officials in Chester County are asking cat owners to keep their animals indoors as officials investigate three separate incidents of animal cruelty.

About a week and a half ago, two cats were found bludgeoned to death in East Pikeland Township.

A cat was killed, apparently shot with an arrow in North Coventry township.

Late last month, four kittens and two adult cats were found mutilated around a woman's yard near Coatesville (see related story).

All of those investigations continue, and the Chester County SPCA is asking anyone who might have any information to help them out, by calling 610-692-6113, x213.
