Home Video Report: Retros and Remakes

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Our new video releases this week are led by Captain America: The First Avenger, with Chris Evans (photo) starring as a 98-pound weakling transformed by scientists into a hulking World War II super-soldier in a comic book adaptation.

There’s “Jurassic Park Ultimate Trilogy” – a long-awaited  Blu-ray version of the original movie along with its two sequels.

From 1932: Island of Lost Souls, adapted from HG Wells’ The Island of Dr. Moreau, with Charles Laughton getting a start in his impressive career.

There’s a new animated version of Winnie The Pooh from Walt Disney, and a ten-disk set of Laurel and Hardy — “The Essential Collection” including movies produced as far back as 1929.

And, from 1964, Hamlet At Elsinore, with Michael Caine and Donald Sutherland in a production of the Shakespeare classic filmed on location where the play was set.
